Unique national first grade museum in Guangxi
Guangxi Ethnic Relics Center located in Guangxi Museum covers an area of 24000 square meters. It is a brand new way to exhibit the ethnic culture that this center is an outdoor exhibition. Guangxi Ethnic Relics Center features relics, folk buildings, ethnic flavor, and folk customs of four minorities, Zhuang, Dong, Yao, and Miao. Their daily utensils and handicrafts are also displayed in each respective model house. Various folk performances will be shown during festivals. This is where one can fully appreciate the enchanting and unique customs of the minorities of Guangxi.
The Display of Guangxi Historical Relics exhibits heritage from 50,000 years ago, such as the Liujiang Man's cobra bone, to the Opium War in 1840; while the Display of Guangxi Revolutionary Relics exhibits relics and documents of every revolutionary period in the early 1920s. The Museum also has three displays on special topics, namely, the Display of Guangxi Folklore, the Display of Guangxi Ancient Bronze Drums and the Display of Relics about the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Uprising (1850-1864).
