Leave the hotel for Tian'anmen Square, then enter the nearby Forbidden City to explore the former imperial palace. Continue to Jingshan Park for a panoramic view across the palace roofs, then drive to the Back Lakes (Houhai) to see a different side of Beijing's history and city life. Peking Opera is available as an optional evening activity before the tour ends at your hotel.

Meet your guide and driver at the hotel and travel to Xizaizhi village below the Jiankou Section. Hike for about four hours from Jiankou toward Mutianyu along an unrestored section valued for its rugged mountain setting. Although the route follows the ridge with mostly gentle changes in elevation, damaged areas require careful footing and close attention to your guide.

Begin in the Panda House at Beijing Zoo, where the giant pandas can be seen in the morning. Continue to the Yonghe Palace , a Tibetan-style temple complex that is unusual in Beijing, then stop for lunch at a local restaurant. Spend the afternoon at the Summer Palace before returning to the hotel. Ask your guide about evening entertainment; the Chinese Kungfu Show at Red Theater is an optional choice for travelers interested in Chinese culture.

Start with a traditional local breakfast known as bean soup, then visit the Temple of Heaven and observe residents exercising in its public spaces, with activities that may include kung fu, tai chi and square dancing. Continue into a nearby Hutong and visit a local fruits and vegetable market, where you can try bargaining with vendors. After lunch, proceed to Qianmen Street, known for its Qing-era specialty shops and Dangdang Che trams, and explore at a relaxed pace.
