Like the Milky Way descending from the heaven, the Huangguoshu Waterfall rushes into the Xiniu pond, sending foams up by 100 meters, and roars can be heard kilometers away. With typical karst topography, the area around the Huangguoshu Waterfall boasts a cluster of fascinatin water-eroded caves.

Historic records tell the story about the village. The imperial court of the Ming Dynasty had sent a garrison force to Anshun six hundred years ago. The garrison turned the neighborhood into farmland, grew crops, and build up villages for its own needs. Located in the southwest part of Anshun about 32 kilometers, the Dragon Palace Cave Scenic Area is famous for over 90 fabulous caves and uncountable amazing waterfalls inside. When you enter in those various caves, you will feel like that you are going to visit the palace for Dragon King living under the water in Chinese tales and myths.

The beautiful scenery has attracted many tourists and it was one of the shooting sites of a famous Chinese TV “Pilgrimage to the West”.
South to Zhonghua East Road, north to Anshun No.1 Middle School, east to Hongshanhu Road and west to Zhonghua North Road, Anshun Ancient City was built in Ming Dynasty(1381), which is located in the center of the city. There are 151 historical building in the Ancient Ancient City. At Anshun Ancient City, you can see rivers, temples, traditional buildings and stores. At day, you can stroll around the ancient city and taste the local cuisines. At night, you can enjoy the night view of the ancient city.
The best time to visit Anshun will depend on your preference. If you want to visit the Huangguoshu Waterfall, it is recommended that you visit Anshun from June to August, when is the high flow period of the waterfall. If you plan to visit Dragon Palace, it is recommended that you visit Anshun from April to October with comfortable weather.
One Day Itinerary in Anshun: Huangguoshu Waterfall or Dragon Palace
If you only have one day in Anshun, you can choose to visit Huangguoshu Waterfall or Dragon Palace. And if you want to visit both of these two attractions in a day, it will be a little hurry. To better experience the beauty of Huangguoshu Waterfall and Dragon Palace Scenic Area, it is recommended that you leave one day for each attraction.

If you have two days in Anshun, you can visit the highlights of Anshun, Dragon Palace and Huangguoshu Waterfall. On the day one, you can get to Dragon Palace from Guiyang, then have fun at the Dragon Palace. One the day two, you can visit the Huanggushu Waterfall.
