Ordos Ejin Horo Airport

Ordos Ejin Horo Airport is located at Ejin Horo of Ordos City, 45 km south of Dongsheng District, 18 km from the Kangbashi New District. In 2012, after renovation and expansion, the airport level reaches 4D level, and can take off and land A330 and below models.

Since Ordos Airport was put into service, there is rapid growth in the number of visitors to Ordos. In 2008, under the proposed expansion of the development needs of Ordos Airport, it started the renovation and expansion project, and built the new T2 terminal which put into use in January 2013.

Expansion

Ordos Airport, since put into service, the growth in the number of visitors is very rapid, exceeding the original design passenger throughput. So, the airport expansion project launched as early as 2008, and in 2009 obtained the approval of the Civil Aviation Authority of North China. Airport expansion project total investment of 960 million yuan, the total construction area of the terminal is 4.5 million square vicinities meters, after the expansion of the airport flight zone grade level will enhance the reach 4D 4C-scale, can take off and land B767-200 and the following models. Besides, the runway will be extended to 2,800 meters, forward planning for the 3200 meters. After the expansion of Ordos Airport intends completed before the end of 2010.
