Dragon Tower

Dragon Tower in Harbin is a tall tower of lattice steel used for communication. It was built in 2000. The Dragon Tower, used as the Heilongjiang Broadcast and TV Tower, at 336 meters (1,102 ft) high, ranks as the 22nd highest in the world and the seventh highest in Asia. It is a comprehensive multifunctional tower that integrates transmission of broadcast and TV, tourism, sightseeing, food and beverage service, advertisement propagation, environmental and meteorological monitoring, microwave telecommunication and wireless communication together.

The total building area of the Dragon Tower is 16,600 square meters. The tower base consists of the underground floor and the first four floors above ground. The base is made into a spherical crown. The Dragon Tower's body is built into a regular octagon. The tower appears to be a parabola. The tower halls are located from 181m to 206m, consisting of a flying saucer in the bottom and a ball-shape hall on the top. The antenna is installed in elevation of 220.5m to 6m. Awarded the title of Grade-AAAA tourist sight by the State Tourism administration, the Dragon Tower has become a landmark of Harbin and Heilongjiang Province.

1. 181-Meter Observation Deck
   The 181-meter Observation Deck is the core sightseeing spot of Harbin Dragon Tower. With large, floor-to-ceiling glass windows surrounding the area, it offers unobstructed panoramic views of Harbin's urban landscape. Visitors can overlook landmarks like the Songhua River, central business districts, and residential areas—especially in winter, when the snow-covered city turns into a magical “ice city,” making the view even more breathtaking. It's also a great place to take photos of the city skyline, whether in daytime or at dusk when the city lights start to glow.
    

2. 186-Meter “Sky Walk” Thrill Ring
   The 186-meter “Sky Walk” Thrill Ring is an adventure-focused experience for bold visitors. It's a narrow, glass-bottomed circular walkway built outside the tower's main structure, with only a thin layer of tempered glass separating visitors from the ground hundreds of meters below. Walking on it creates a thrilling “walking in the air” sensation, and the transparent glass allows you to look straight down at the streets and buildings below, adding to the excitement. Staff provide safety guidance and support, making it a manageable yet memorable thrill for most travelers.
    

3. 203-Meter Revolving Restaurant
   The 203-meter Revolving Restaurant combines dining with sightseeing in a unique way. The restaurant rotates slowly at a speed of one full 360-degree turn every 90 minutes, so diners can enjoy changing views of Harbin while eating. It mainly serves Chinese and Western cuisines, including local Harbin specialties, catering to different tastes. The comfortable seating and warm lighting create a pleasant dining atmosphere, making it a popular choice for both tourists wanting to experience a special meal and locals celebrating occasions.
    

4. 190-Meter Outdoor Observation Platform
   Located at a height of 190 meters, the platform offers a 360-degree panoramic view of Harbin, allowing visitors to overlook the beautiful scenery of the city. There are also high-altitude starry sky bubble houses, providing a romantic experience. Whether it is during the day with clear skies or at night with city lights shining, it presents a charming scene.
    
5. Dome Light Show
   It is the largest dome light show in China. Dozens of high-definition laser projectors are used to display the legend of the Black Dragon, showcasing the regional culture and customs of Longjiang in a 360-degree all-round manner, bringing a stunning visual feast to the audience.
    
6. Long Tower Wright Aviation and Aerospace Experience Hall
   The experience hall has a China Commercial Aircraft C919 culture exhibition hall, where visitors can learn about the development process of COMAC. There is also an aviation knowledge interactive area, allowing people to get in touch with aviation-related knowledge. In the VR equipment experience area, visitors can experience the wonderful world of virtual reality, and the dynamic 5D cinema brings a full-range sensory stimulation.
    
7. World “Airborne Celebrity Handprint Museum”
   Located on the 181-meter-high floor, the museum has a Chinese celebrity handprint hall that collects the hand molds of celebrities such as Kong Linghui. Visitors can view these unique hand molds up close and feel the unique charm of celebrities.
    
8. Tang Dynasty Cultural Exquisite Works Exhibition
   Located at a height of 203 meters, the exhibition showcases cultural relics such as the eight-fold treasure case and silver lotus, allowing visitors to appreciate the profound and magnificent Tang Dynasty culture in the sky.
    
9. Prayer Hall
   Located at a height of 206 meters, the Prayer Hall allows visitors to feel the profoundness of Buddhism while enjoying the exquisite sculpture art.
    

How to buy tickets

1. On-Site Ticket Purchase (Most Convenient )

Visit the ticket office at the tower's entrance (No. 178 Changjiang Road, Nangang District). Key points for a smooth experience:

• Language Support: Some staff at the ticket office can communicate in basic English, and there are English versions of ticket package menus (listing options like “Basic Sightseeing” or “Sky Walk + Observation Deck Combo”) to help you choose.
• Payment Methods: Cash (Chinese Yuan, CNY) is widely accepted. Many ticket windows also support international credit cards (Visa, Mastercard) and mobile payments linked to foreign cards (e.g., Alipay International, WeChat Pay International).
• Package Tips: If you want to combine activities (e.g., sightseeing + a meal at the Revolving Restaurant), ask staff for “combination tickets”—they often offer better value than buying single tickets separately.

1. International Travel Platforms: Use global booking sites like Trip.com or Agoda. Search for “Harbin Dragon Tower Tickets,” select your preferred date and ticket type, and pay with an international credit card or PayPal. You'll get a digital QR code via email, which you can scan at the tower's entrance.
2. Official WeChat Mini-Program (With Translation Help): If you use WeChat, search for the official mini-program “哈尔滨龙塔” (Haerbin Longta). While the interface is in Chinese, you can use WeChat's built-in “Translate Page” function (tap the three dots in the top-right corner) to switch to English. Payment here works with Alipay International or WeChat Pay International.
    

Important Notes

1.  Most tickets are valid only on the date you select, so double-check your visit date before booking.
2.  Children under 1.2 meters (3.9 feet) usually enter for free, and seniors over 65 may get discounts—bring a passport or ID to prove age/height if applicable.
