Guilin landscape planning
Guilin tours usually combine three different landscape experiences: the karst setting around the city, a Li River journey toward Yangshuo, and the Longji rice terraces north of Guilin. They are not one compact attraction. River embarkation, hotel changes, rural road access, village paths and terrace steps all affect the schedule, so a two-day checklist rarely provides the experience suggested by the map.
Three days can introduce Guilin and Yangshuo; four or five days makes Longji, countryside activity or a gentler pace more realistic. Cruise, raft and road travel are different products with separate operating conditions. Terrace appearance follows farming and weather rather than a fixed tourism calendar, and no itinerary can guarantee mist, reflections, green fields or harvest color. These comparisons make those tradeoffs visible before a route is quoted.
