Arrive in Beijing and meet your guide at the airport. Transfer to the hotel, complete check-in and keep the rest of the day free to recover from the journey.

Beijing City View

Begin at the Temple of Heaven, where the historic ceremonial complex also provides a look at local morning routines and traditional architecture.

Continue to Tian'anmen Square, then have the scheduled early lunch before entering the former imperial district.

Spend more than two hours inside the Forbidden City, exploring its palace halls, gardens and collections. Climb Jingshan afterwards for a broad view over the complex before returning to the hotel.

Temple of Heaven

Accommodation: In Beijing

Drive about two hours from central Beijing to the Mutianyu Great Wall. Walk on the restored wall; the cable car or slideway is available as listed but is optional and excluded from the tour price.

After lunch near the wall, return to Beijing and stop outside the Bird Nest and Water Cube. Continue to the hotel, where the evening remains free; ask your guide about Peking roast duck if interested.

Mutianyu Great Wall

Meals: Hotel Breakfast, Chinese Lunch
Accommodation: In Xi'an

Check out and visit the Summer Palace, including Longevity Hill, Kunming Lake and the Long Corridor. A boat ride is available during the scheduled visit.

After lunch, transfer to Beijing West Railway Station for the 5-5.5 hour high-speed train in a second-class seat to Xi'an. Meet the local guide at the station and continue to the hotel.

Xi'an City View

Meals: Hotel Breakfast, Chinese Lunch
Accommodation: In Xi'an

Drive to the Qin Terracotta Warriors and view the excavated soldiers, horses and chariots in battle formation. Visit the scheduled pottery workshop before the nearby lunch.

Return to the city and walk on the Xi'an City Wall; bicycle rental is optional and excluded from the price. Finish at the Big Wild Goose Pagoda North Square before the hotel transfer.

The tour finishes by dropping-off at the hotel lobby. You could ask your local guide for some information about evening entertainment or night show, such as Tang Dynasty Show.

Qin Terracotta Warriors

After a relaxed morning and lunch, walk through the Muslim Quarter and visit  Gao's Courtyard for a closer look at local residential and folk traditions.

Transfer to the airport for the flight to Guilin. Meet the local guide on arrival and continue to the hotel.

Shadow Play

Drive about two hours to the Longji Rice Terraces Scenic Area (Dragon's Back) and walk through its layered fields, with time to explore the mountain scenery.

Have lunch in Ping'an Zhuang Village and sample the listed bamboo rice and bamboo-cooked chicken.

Spend time around the village and observe local life before departing at about 15:00 and returning to Guilin at approximately 17:00. A Four Lakes Night Cruise is available as an optional evening activity.

Longji Rice Terraces

Transfer to Zhujiang Pier for the approximately four-hour Li River cruise to Yangshuo. Walk along West Street, then explore the countryside by bicycle or local vehicle before checking in for the night in Yangshuo.

Li River Cruise

Accommodation: In Zhangjiajie

Return to Guilin and visit Elephant Trunk Hill beside the Li River. Continue to the Riyue Shuangta Cultural Park for the Golden and Silver Twin Pagodas, then explore the naturally formed chambers of Reed Flute Cave.

Have the scheduled lunch at a local restaurant before the onward rail journey.

Transfer to the railway station for the bullet train to Zhangjiajie. Meet the local guide on arrival and continue to the hotel.

Elephant View from Jolie Vue Boutique Hotel

Spend the day on Tianmen Mountain , following the listed route through the mountain cable car, Glass Skywalk, Tianmen Temple, Bonsai Garden, Tianmen Cave and Connected-Heaven Avenue.

Continue to 72 Qilou (72-story Tujia Stilted Building), then stop for about ten minutes at Dayong Ancient Town. for photographs.

Note: Though the cable car takes you uphill, you still need to walk quite a distance to reach hotels, restaurants and viewing spots on the mountain.

Tianmen Mountain

Enter Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and reach Yuanjiajie Scenic Area by the Bailong Elevator. See the pillar landscapes associated with Avatar and the First Stone Bridge in the World, then continue to Tianzi Mountain Nature Reserve by battery vehicle.

Later, take the small train through Ten-mile Gallery at your own expense. The five-kilometer route passes naturally shaped rock formations before the return to the hotel.

Yuanjiajie Scenic Area

Accommodation: In Shanghai

Visit the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge, followed by lunch at a local restaurant. Continue to Baofeng Lake for a boat ride among the lake, surrounding peaks and waterfalls, then return to Zhangjiajie for the evening flight to Shanghai.

Begin the Shanghai day in Shikumen, walking through lanes that show the city's distinctive residential architecture and neighborhood life.

Continue to Yuyuan Garden and browse the nearby bazaar for traditional streets, shops and local atmosphere.

After lunch, walk along the Bund, visit the Shanghai Museum and continue through the French Concession. Ask your guide about an optional acrobatic show or Huangpu River cruise in the evening.

Chenghuangmiao Old Street

Keep the day free until the airport transfer. A Maglev ride to Pudong Airport can be arranged if requested; otherwise, travel directly by road.
