Meet your guide in the hotel lobby and begin at Tian'anmen Square. Walk into the Forbidden City to explore the former imperial palace, then continue to Jingshan Park for a panoramic view across its roofs from Coal Hill.

After lunch at a local Chinese restaurant, visit the Temple of Heaven,, where emperors once prayed for good harvests. Browse Panjiayuan Antique Market and Pearl Market before returning to the hotel; your guide can advise on an evening show or a Peking duck dinner.

Forbidden City

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Accommodation: In Beijing 

Meet your guide at the hotel and drive to the Mutianyu Great Wall. On arrival, choose between hiking on the restored ramparts or taking the cable car up before walking along the wall. Lunch is served at a nearby local restaurant.

Return to Beijing and stop outside the Bird Nest and Water Cube, two venues built for the 2008 Olympic Games. The rest of the evening is free after the hotel drop-off.

Pack, check out and meet your guide for a relaxed half-day in Beijing. Head to the Drum Tower area for a Hutong Tour by rickshaw and a closer look at the lanes and everyday neighborhood life.

Continue to the Summer Palace, Beijing's largest surviving imperial garden. A boat ride on Kunming Lake is included, followed by lunch at a nearby restaurant.

After lunch, transfer to the railway station for the high-speed train to Xi'an. Meet your Xi'an guide at the North Railway Station and continue to the hotel.

Meet your guide in the hotel lobby and set out to explore historic Xi'an.

Drive to the Terracotta Warriors and examine the excavated soldiers, horses and chariots arranged in battle formation. A shuttle bus is included, followed by a visit to the scheduled pottery workshop.

Have the scheduled Chinese lunch near the Terracotta Warriors scenic area.

Return to central Xi'an and visit the Xian City Wall; bicycle rental is optional and excluded from the price. Finish in the Muslim Quarter for its streets, shops and local snacks. Ask your guide about the optional Tang Dynasty Show with Dinner if you would like an evening performance.

Terracotta Warriors

Pack, check out and meet your guide for a final sightseeing program in Xi'an before continuing to Chengdu.

Visit Gao's Courtyard to see a traditional residence and learn about paper-cutting and shadow puppetry. Continue to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a landmark of the ancient capital, and see the North Plaza fountain show when available.

After lunch, transfer to Xi'an North Railway Station for the approximately four-hour high-speed train to Chengdu. Meet your Chengdu guide at the station and continue to the hotel.

Meet your guide and visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. The included shuttle bus helps you move through the grounds while learning about giant and young pandas and observing their daily behavior.

Have the scheduled hot-pot lunch at Old House restaurant.

Continue to Chengdu People's Park and observe how residents exercise, play cards and Mahjong, seek marriage partners and spend their leisure time.

Sit in a local teahouse for a cup of tea and a closer look at Chengdu's everyday pace.

Walk through Kuan Zhai Alley, a district of historic lanes and Qing- and Ming-style architecture, including the scheduled stop at the Chinese-style Starbucks.

Return to the hotel. Ask your guide about the optional Sichuan Opera if you would like an evening performance.

Giant Panda Base

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Accommodation: In Chongqing

Drive to Mt. Leshan and take the scheduled approximately 30-minute cruise for a full view of the mountain and the Leshan Giant Buddha.

After lunch, transfer to Chengdu Railway Station for the high-speed train to Chongqing. Continue to the hotel after arrival and keep the rest of the day free.

Visit Chongqing Three Gorges Museum for an introduction to Three Gorges culture, then continue to Ancient Town of Ciqikou and Liziba Station ,  to see the metro passing through a residential building.

Cross the river on the  Yangtze River Ropeway for views of the mountain city, then finish at Hong Ya Cave among its stilted architecture, old streets and riverside setting. Return to the hotel afterwards.

Notes:
1. Yangtze River Cruise lasts for 3 nights from Chonqing to Yichang, embarkation at Chaotianmen Dock, sails at around 21:00pm.
2. Tonight would be a perfect time to board Yangtze River Cruise ship for anyone who wants to include a leisure cruise tour in Yangtze River.
3. There is no direct train from Yichang to Zhangjiajie, a private transfer service will be arranged for traveler then (about 4-5 hours driving).

Chongqing day tour

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Accommodation: In Wulingyuan

Take the high-speed train to Zhangjiajie and meet the local guide at the station. After lunch, spend the afternoon on Tianmen Mountain, following the listed route through the cable car, Glass Skywalk, Tianmen Temple, Bonsai Garden, Tianmen Cave and Connected-Heaven Avenue.

Transfer to the hotel in Zhangjiajie's Wulingyuan district and rest after sightseeing.

Enter Zhangjiajie National Forest Park.  and reach Yuanjiajie Scenic Area by the Bailong Elevator. See the pillar landscapes associated with Avatar and the First Stone Bridge in the World, then continue by battery vehicle to Tianzi Mountain Nature Reserve for mountain, valley and forest views.

Later, take the small train through Ten-mile Gallery at your own expense. The five-kilometer route passes naturally shaped rock formations before the return to the hotel.

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park

Meals: Breakfast, Luch
Accommodation: In Shanghai

Visit the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge, followed by the scheduled lunch at a local restaurant. Continue to Baofeng Lake for a boat ride among the lake, surrounding peaks and waterfalls, with an introduction to Tujia folk songs.

After sightseeing, transfer to the airport for the flight to Shanghai. Meet your Shanghai guide on arrival and continue to the hotel.

Grand Canyon Glass Bridge

Begin the final sightseeing day in Shanghai by walking through the lanes of Shikumen, where the architecture and neighborhood setting provide a look at the city's distinctive residential heritage.

Continue to Yuyuan Garden, then browse the nearby Yuyuan Bazaar for traditional streets, shops and local atmosphere.

After lunch, visit Shanghai City History Museum at  The Oriental Pearl TV Tower, ascend to the second sphere for city views and drive through Lujiazui to see the Pudong skyline.

Finish along the Bund beside the Huangpu River, where the historic waterfront faces Shanghai's modern towers across the water.
