Meet your guide at the hotel at 08:30 and begin at Huacheng Square , Guangzhou's large central square. Its 39 surrounding buildings include the Children's Palace, Guangzhou Grand Theater, library and museum, while the Mall of the World combines shopping, dining and entertainment. Continue to Haixinsha Park, an island in the Pearl River, for views across the Pearl River toward Guangzhou Bridge, Liede Bridge and Guangzhou Tower . A traditional Cantonese meal is arranged at a local restaurant.
After lunch, visit Ersha Island, a landscaped Pearl River island where Xinghai Concert Hall, the Guangdong Museum of Art, residential areas and sports facilities sit within broad green space. Continue to the Guangdong Province Museum, which closes on Mondays, for an introduction to the province in a contemporary museum setting.
On the return to the hotel, stop outside Canton Tower for photographs. Ask your guide if you would like information about optional evening activities such as the Pearl River night cruise.
