We want to thank the agency Viaje de China – Yun Sky Travel, the tour operator Nieves, and all the guides for the work they did to make our trip to China a wonderful experience.
In our case, we visited Beijing (guide Lidia, Spanish), Xi'an (guide Alma, Spanish), Zhangjiajie (guide Anna, English), Guilin (guide Cristóbal, Spanish), Hangzhou (guide Lulu, Spanish), and Shanghai (guide Elena, Spanish). All our guides picked us up on time at each destination, spoke excellent Spanish or English, and made sure to facilitate transportation and hotel arrangements. They guided us through the planned activities, but also adapted them to the weather conditions or non-peak hours so that we could avoid the heat as much as possible or encounter fewer crowds at the monuments. They gave us valuable advice, took the initiative to show us unplanned places, and offered interesting optional extra activities.
The hotels were all wonderful and very well located. The pre-arranged or suggested restaurants had delicious food, and we didn't have any stomach problems (we drank bottled water and hot teas, as the Chinese do, and avoided street stalls during our free time).
China pleasantly surprised us not only with its amazing monumental wonders but also with its people—kind, polite, disciplined, and tolerant. The streets were very clean, not a single piece of litter on the ground; we could certainly learn from that. The spitting issue is something they are eradicating; we barely saw it. In most public restrooms, there is at least one Western-style toilet.
In addition to eSIM, it's advisable to download Alipay, which can be linked to a Visa or MasterCard and used for payments in establishments, requesting taxis (Didi), or communicating with locals via its microphone translator. WeChat is also useful for communicating with the guides or translating texts.
We are very happy with our trip to China, which has been like a dream. Thank you very much.
