Meet your guide at the hotel and begin at the Temple of Heaven, where imperial ceremonies once focused on prayers for good harvests.

Continue by rickshaw through the Beijing Hutong and visit a local family.

Pause for an à la carte Chinese lunch, then walk across Tian'anmen Square and enter the adjoining Forbidden City for more than two hours among its halls, courtyards and collections.

Note:  At night, a lively and dramatic Chinese Kung Fu Show at the Red Theater or the Acrobatic Show can be your optional night entertainment.

Leave central Beijing early for the roughly two-hour drive to Mutianyu Great Wall. Walk along the restored wall, using the included round-trip cable car.

After an à la carte lunch near the wall, return to Beijing and stop outside the Bird Nest and Water Cube for photographs. Ask your guide for a Peking roast duck restaurant suggestion if you would like to dine independently.

Check out and spend the morning at the Summer Palace, exploring the imperial garden around Longevity Hill, Kunming Lake and the Long Corridor.

Have lunch en route to Beijing West Railway Station, then board a second-class high-speed train to Xi'an (about 5–5.5 hours). Meet the local guide at the station and transfer to the hotel.

Start the Xi'an program at the Xi'an City Wall, with the option to rent a bicycle at your own expense.

Continue toward the Terracotta Warriors, stopping at a cave-dwelling pottery workshop to see how miniature figures are produced. After lunch nearby, explore the excavated soldiers, horses and chariots.

Back downtown, walk around Bell Tower Square,  before returning to the hotel.

Note: You could ask your local guide for some information about evening entertainment or night show, such as Tang Dynasty Show.

Terracotta Warriors

After a free morning and hotel check-out, browse the Muslim Quarter and visit Gao's Courtyard for traditional architecture and shadow puppetry. Continue tothe Big Wild Goose Pagoda North Plaza for a photo stop and the scheduled 12:00 fountain display, subject to operation.

Take the evening flight to Zhangjiajie, whose sandstone pillars and forested valleys form one of China's best-known mountain landscapes. Stay tonight in Wulingyuan.

Tips: Flight schedules between late November and early March may require the day's sequence to be adjusted.

Zhangjiajie National Park

Explore Yuanjiajie Scenic Area, reaching the upper area by Bailong Elevator. See its tall sandstone formations and natural bridge, then continue by battery car into the Tianzi Mountain Nature Reserve, with views across peaks, valleys and forest; cloud seas may appear when conditions allow.

Continue toTen-mile Gallery （Ten-mile Gallery, where a five-kilometer route passes rock formations named for their shapes. The small-train ride is at your own expense. Return to the hotel at the end of the day.

Yuanjiajie Scenic Area

Visit the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge after breakfast. Following lunch at a local restaurant, continue to Baofeng Lake for a boat ride among the mountain scenery and an introduction to Tujia folk songs. Return to the hotel afterwards.

Note:? The order of Zhangjiajie visits may change, including a possible swap between Tianmen Mountain and Grand Canyon, but all listed sites remain in the itinerary.

After breakfast, exploreTianmen Mountain, including the cable car, Glass Skywalk, Tianmen Temple, Bonsai Garden, Tianmen Cave and Connected-Heaven Avenue. After lunch, collect your luggage and transfer to Zhangjiajie airport for the evening flight.

Meet the local guide after landing in Shanghai and transfer to the hotel.

Tianmen Mountain

Begin in the residential lanes of Shikumen, where the area's architecture offers a closer look at older Shanghai neighborhoods.

Continue to Yuyuan Garden, a classical garden in the city center, then browse the adjoining Yuyuan Bazaar.

After lunch, visit the City History Museum below The Oriental Pearl TV Tower and ride to its second sphere for a city view. Drive through Lujiazui to see the Pudong skyline.

Finish at the Bund, where the historic waterfront faces the modern towers across the Huangpu River.
