July often brings two planning pressures together: summer holiday demand and a wetter season in much of the province. For a family or mixed-age party, the strongest itinerary is usually one with settled bases, short choices within each day and clear meal and transport arrangements. A long list of mountain and gorge outings is harder to adapt when weather or energy changes.

A lakeside walk followed by lunch and free time can be a complete day for a young family. A craft workshop or museum can provide a different option when outdoor conditions are unsuitable. July rain patterns are a reason to plan alternatives, but they do not establish which road or trail is usable on your date. It requires a plan that takes rain, demand and the children's pace seriously. Towns, food, crafts and selected outdoor visits can still form a varied holiday without relying on every day being clear.
Compare the actual need. Door-to-door help on particular transfer or outing days may be enough; rail between bases can remain an option.
