Meet your guide at the hotel and begin at the Temple of Heaven. In addition to its ceremonial architecture, the morning setting offers a look at residents exercising, practicing Tai Chi and gathering in the park.

Continue by rickshaw through a Beijing Hutong and visit a local family.

Have an à la carte Chinese lunch before the afternoon sightseeing program.

Visit Tian'anmen Square, then walk into the adjoining Forbidden City for more than two hours among its palace halls, gardens and collections. Return to the hotel after the visit.

Note:  At night, alively and dramatic Chinese Kung Fu Show at the Red Theater or the Acrobatic Show can be your optional night entertainment.

Leave the hotel early and drive about two hours to the Mutianyu Great Wall. Round-trip cable-car tickets are included, allowing more time to walk along this restored section of the wall.

Have an à la carte lunch near Mutianyu. On the return to Beijing, stop outside the Bird Nest and Water Cube before continuing to the hotel. Ask your guide for suggestions if you would like Peking roast duck in the evening.

Check out and visit the  Summer Palace, Beijing's largest surviving imperial garden. See Longevity Hill, Kunming Lake and the Long Corridor, with a boat ride available during the visit.

Have lunch en route to Beijing West Railway Station, then take the 5-5.5 hour high-speed train in a second-class seat to Xi'an. Meet the local guide at the station and transfer to the hotel.

Begin at the Xi'an City Wall. Bicycle rental is optional and excluded from the price.

Drive toward the Terracotta Warriors, stopping at a pottery workshop to learn how miniature figures are made and to see the area's cave-dwelling tradition. Have lunch nearby, then visit the archaeological site and its excavated soldiers, horses and chariots.

Return downtown and walk around Bell Tower Square, before the hotel drop-off.

Note: You could ask your local guide for some information about evening entertainment or night show, such as Tang Dynasty Show.

Good to know: For the first timer to Tibet, either by flight or train, a good rest is a must for quick acclimation to the high altitude in Lhasa. Never rush to tour the street or attractions on your own. Walk slower and do not exert yourself like running or jumping. If you have any discomfort, do tell it to your guide, and he will help you out.

After two nights at altitude, visit the  Potala Palace  and spend 2-3 hours exploring the former winter palace, its historic rooms, gilded burial stupas and meditation cave. Afterwards, walk the pilgrimage route around the palace.

Continue to Jokhang Monastery, an important center of Tibetan religious life, then walk through Barkor Kora to observe the old city's lanes, tea houses and local commerce.

Good to know: Taking photos is forbidden in the monastery. If you want to take photos of Tibetan pilgrims, a gentle ask for permission would be appreciated. Swimming and fishing are not allowed in holy lakes in Tibet; Do not talk about sensitive topics like politics; International tourists are not allowed to travel alone in Tibet according to the policy; Walk clockwise around Barkhor Street; Never venture into the unknown trails. If you are uncertain about something, it's advisable to ask your guide before you do it at will.

Fly to Chongqing in the morning and meet the local guide. After lunch, visit the Three Gorges Museum for an introduction to the Three Gorges region, photograph Chongqing People's Hall from the exterior and continue to Hong Ya Dong beside the river.
Transfer to the Yangtze River cruise terminal for check-in between 18:00 and 20:30; the ship departs Chongqing at 21:00.

Notes:
1. If you have enough free time in Chongqing before embark, you can have a try of Chongqing Hot Pot for your dinner.
2. Generally, the cruise departs from Chongqing Chaotianmen terminal, but some cruise boats may depart from Fengdu or Fuling Terminal (from Chongqing about 1.5-2 hours' drive), which depends on the water level and the cruise's arrangement.

After lunch, visit  The Oriental Pearl TV Tower and Shanghai City History Museum, then ascend to the second sphere for city views and drive through Lujiazui.

Finish with a walk along the Bund beside the Huangpu River, looking across to the Pudong skyline.
