Stone Forest is about 87 km from Kunming City, a drive of approximately 1.5 hours. The 400-square-kilometer area includes large and small stone forests along with other scenic sites. Since the Ming Dynasty, it has been known as the ‘First Wonder of the World.'

Stone Forest's steep limestone landscape forms a maze of passages and viewpoints. Individual rock formations are traditionally compared with animals, plants and human figures, each with a distinct outline and character.
