Where is Simatai Great Wall?

Simatai Great Wall lies beside Gubei Water Town in northern Miyun District, Beijing . Its distance from the city center and the resort-style entrance system make it a different transport problem from Badaling or Mutianyu. Some tour products combine Simatai with nearby wall landscapes, but day entry, night entry and access through Gubei Water Town may use different tickets or gates.

Take an Express or Tour Bus to Simatai

Before booking , confirm whether the vehicle goes to Gubei Water Town or a separate Simatai entrance. Save the meeting point in Chinese and arrive early enough to identify the authorized bus rather than accepting an unsolicited transfer.

Ask staff to confirm the transfer for 古北水镇 or 司马台长城 rather than boarding a Chengde-bound coach and requesting an informal roadside drop.

Public transfers cost less but require more time and a stronger fallback. Avoid the last outbound service, keep the return plan visible offline and allow for the distance between the arrival stop, ticketing area and wall entrance.

Take Local Bus or Private Transfer

Local-bus itineraries may use Beijing bus 980 to Miyun followed by another bus or legal taxi, but the exact transfer stop must be checked in real time.
