4-Day Yellow Mountain & Wangxian Valley Tour

Arrive in Huangshan — Mt. Huangshan is known as the No. 1 Mountain under Heaven. Your local guide will meet you at the airport and then transfer to the hotel. 

In the afternoon, travel into historic Yixian County to visit Hongcun Village, the village used as a setting for Ang Lee's ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.' Walk among ponds, willows and traditional Hui-style architecture before returning to the hotel.

Spend the evening at Tunxi Old Street , where historic architecture lines a lively street with a range of local food choices.

Hongcun Village

Our guide will meet you up at the hotel lobby and start today's exploration of Mt. Huangshan. You can store your luggage in the hotel and travel light.

Spend the day exploring Mt. Huangshan, known for four signature landscapes: distinctive pines, unusual rock formations, seas of cloud and clear hot springs. Take the cable car up and continue toward the Xihai hotel, about a half-hour walk away. Along the route, view Yellow Mountain, Lion Peak and Shixin Peak.

Check in and have lunch at the hotel restaurant. Food choices on the mountain are limited, making the hotel the most convenient option.

Hike through the Grand Canyon of Xihai  in the afternoon. This circular trail links Paiyun Pavilion with the White Cloud area near Fairy-walking Bridge and returns to the hotel after crossing prime scenery in the Xihai area.

If time and energy permit, spend about one hour in the Sky Sea Scenic Area. Watch the sunset from Bright Summit (1840m), the mountain's second-highest peak, see Flying-over Rock, then return to the hotel to rest.

Please Note:
1) You will be climbing many stone steps so pack lightly and wear comfortable hiking shoes.
2) Your guide will tailor the hiking route based on your fitness level and pace – please communicate any concerns beforehand.
3) The West Sea Grand Canyon is closed annually from December to late March due to heavy snowfall and hazardous icy conditions.

Mt. Huangshan

Get up earlier in the morning and go to Danxia Peak or nearby peak to watch the sunrise and sea of clouds. It is under the influence of weather. Try your luck! You might have a chance to see the colorful sea of clouds which is the top view of Mt. Huangshan. Back to your hotel for a short break and take a cable car down to the foot of Mt. Huangshan.

Have lunch at a local restaurant in the old town and collect the luggage stored at your Huangshan city hotel. Then drive about 3 hours to Wangxian Valley (Wangxiangu: 望仙谷) in Shangrao, Jiangxi Province. Check in inside the valley and use the evening to explore its night views, especially White Crane Cliff, Lanyue Bridge and Baige Bridge.

Tips:
1) There are high speed trains from Huangshan north railway station to Shangrao station(less than 1 hour), suitable for solo traveler and small group.
2) It takes about 1 hour to drive from Shangrao station to Wangxiangu scenic area.

Wangxian Valley

Today try to get up early to avoid the tourist crowds. After breakfast, you will walk to enjoy both the natural landscape and cultural highlights of Wangxian Valley.

Wangxian Valley  occupies a former mine site and now combines waterfalls, cliffs, local heritage and traditional houses built into the rock face. Walk through the valley town and encounter scenes inspired by regional legends and stories.

After the visit, transfer to Shangrao railway station for the high-speed train to your next destination.

Tips:
1) If your time is flexible, you may expand your tour to Jingdezhen, Wuyuan, Mt. Sanqingshan nearby in Jiangxi province.
