[14:00-16:30] Visit the Temple of Heaven, the ceremonial complex where emperors prayed for good harvests, then browse Panjiayuan Antique Market.

[16:30-17:30] Return to the hotel. Ask your guide for advice about an evening show or a Peking duck dinner.

[08:30-12:30] Drive to the Mutianyu Great Wall. Choose to hike after arrival or take the cable car up before walking along the restored wall.

[12:30-13:30] Have lunch at a local restaurant near the Great Wall.

[13:30-16:30] Return toward Beijing and stop outside the Bird Nest and Water Cube, two landmark venues from the Beijing Olympic Games.

[16:30-17:30] Transfer back to the hotel. Optional evening ideas include a foot massage, Houhai bars or Sanlitun Bar Street.

[09:30-10:00] Pack, check out and meet your guide for the final half-day in Beijing.

[10:00-11:30] Head to the Drum Tower area for a Hutong Tour by rickshaw and a closer look at Beijing's traditional lanes.

[11:30-14:30] Continue to the Summer Palace, where a boat ride on Kunming Lake is included. Lunch is arranged at a nearby restaurant.

After lunch, transfer to the station for the high-speed train to Xi'an. Meet your Xi'an guide at Xi'an North Railway Station and continue to the hotel.

[12:30-14:00] Have lunch near the Terracotta Warriors scenic area.

[14:00-17:00] Visit the Xian City Wall, where bicycle rental is optional and excluded from the price. Continue to the Muslim Quarter for time among its shops and local food stalls.

[17:00-17:30] Return to the hotel. The optional Tang Dynasty Show with Dinner is available at your own expense.

Terracotta Warriors

[09:30-10:00] Pack, check out and meet your guide for the final Xi'an sightseeing before the train to Chengdu.

[10:00-12:30] Visit Gao's Courtyard for its traditional residence, paper-cutting and shadow-puppetry culture, then continue to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and its north-square fountain area.

[12:30-13:30] After lunch, transfer to Xi'an North Railway Station for the four-hour high-speed train to Chengdu. Meet your local guide on arrival and continue to the hotel.

[08:30-09:00] Meet your guide at the hotel and depart for the panda base.

[09:00-12:30] Visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, whose landscaped enclosures recreate panda habitat. The sightseeing shuttle is included, with time to observe adult and young pandas eating and playing.

[12:30-13:30] Have the scheduled hotpot lunch at Old House Restaurant.

Transfer by high-speed train to Chongqing. Meet your local guide at the station and continue to the hotel for rest.

Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding

Drive about 60 km to Dazu and visit the Dazu Rock Carvings, a UNESCO World Heritage collection of Buddhist, Taoist and Confucian carvings. The visit focuses on Baodingshan, the best-known group within the five mountain sites.

Return to the Chongqing hotel. Keep the evening free for independent exploration, including local snacks or hotpot if you wish.

. Continue across the river on the  Yangtze River Ropeway, then explore the hillside buildings and riverside setting of Hong Ya Cave. Transfer to Chaotianmen wharf and board the Victoria cruise, scheduled to sail from Chongqing at 9:00 p.m.

Spend the day cruising the Yangtze. A short optional visit to Fengdu depends on river conditions. [07:45-10:45] Disembark at Maoping cruise terminal and visit the Three Gorges Dam Site.

After the dam visit, meet your Yichang guide and have lunch at a local restaurant before transferring to the station for the approximately 7.5-hour high-speed train to Shanghai. Meet your Shanghai guide at the station and transfer to the hotel.

[12:30-13:30]  Have lunch featuring the listed Shanghai specialties of dim sum and steamed buns.

[13:30-16:30] Explore Yuyuan Garden, then browse Shanghai Old Street and Nanjing Road for local souvenirs and silk products. Finish with a walk along the Bund and its historic waterfront architecture.

[16:30-17:30]  Return to the hotel. Ask your guide about the optional Acrobatic Show, including the ERA production.
