There are six nights in total: one plus three plus two. The table assumes an onward departure from Lijiang, subject to a suitable connection on your dates. For a return through Kunming, reserve the journey and an appropriate final-night buffer first, then reduce one sightseeing stay.
One overnight in Kunming is an introduction and a transport break. A walk near the hotel and a meal are realistic priorities after a long arrival. A full Stone Forest visit requires a separate excursion block; if it is essential, move one night from Dali to Kunming and remove the Xizhou day. The point of three Dali nights is having two full days between check-in and departure. Put the more weather-sensitive lake outing on the better day when reservations allow, and use the other for a specific village interest. Avoid paying for a full lake circuit if you mainly want a walk and a relaxed lunch.
For hotel choice, compare an Old Town edge with a lakeside location. A scenic room can mean longer transfers to meals or Xizhou. Ask for the actual entrance and evening transport arrangements, then read the Dali planning guide before choosing the room solely from its view.
Two nights give one full sightseeing day. Baisha, Shuhe and a Naxi cultural visit can form a coherent day when you choose what you want to learn, rather than visit every old-town district. Allow time to return to the hotel before dinner; the arrival afternoon already offers a first walk around your base.
Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is a different day, with separate transport, route and weather questions. It can replace the cultural outing, but it should not be promised as a short addition to it. Check the whole journey in the Kunming-to-Dali and Dali-to-Lijiang guides: hotel pickup, correct station, train, arrival station and final hotel access. A rail journey between cities is not the total transfer time. Keep optional sightseeing off the timetable until the bags are at the hotel.
Keep the one–three–two night split if a Dali lake day and a separate town or village day are your priorities. Use one–two–three if you want more Lijiang time, such as a cultural day plus a separately arranged excursion. Both versions have six hotel nights.
